From the island Aero we visited two nice islands.
This winter we spent in Australia, Sydney and North. Here some highlights.
No adventure flying, just relax and stay in the warm weather. T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops. We took over the C172 with glass cockpit in Bankstown from Smith Aviation, a recommendable plane.
Midcity Motor Inn, Mackay, was a good place to stay, cycle and staying in the pool.
Martina sent me for a flight with a Tiger Moth.
Approaching Emu Park, The warning was ennoying because the airfield was not in the database of the G1000.
Here we met a photographer from The Morning Bulletin in Rockhampton.
Approaching Orchid Beach on Fraser Island close to Hervey Bay.
Approaching Port Macquary.
The airport is close by the town. Thats the way we choose the places to stay – everthing reachable by the folding bikes.
The Konstanz Airport is an ideal place for a Sunday outing. From Basel , it’s only 120 kilometers, approximately 45 minutes by air .
Today we have easterly wind.
Take off in Basel LFSB 11:35
Landing in Constance EDTZ 12:20
As always, we have our folding bikes there and ride into the city. Our favorite restaurant Seelig is a bit out off twon, direct at the lake . We enjoyed the view of the water and the mountains. Then we headed back to the airfield Constance EDTZ . The cozy little pilots lounge was open and we toke a coffee on the terrace.
On the way back we took a higher route, it rocks considerably less and after 45 minutes we landed in Basel LFSB . Due to traffic , we had to make some 360 and took the runway 26

It was in spring 2014 when we flew again to Île d’Oléron LFDP. This time we booked in advance a Citroen Mehari to be more flexible. The car was delivered to the airfield of St. Pierre d’Oléron.
Our car was without flowers …
We then headed to our hotel „L‘ Ocean“ in Continière with indoor pool.
Our first aim is to head to a Oyster shop. They open the Oysters for you and you …can eat them at the port. They open the shop at 4 pm.
Next day we headed to the lighthouse at the far West with the folding bicycles in the rear.
The following day we headed back to the airfield LFDP where we returned the car, refuelled out plane (alternate is La Rochelle) and headed home to LFSB.
In October we spend a few days at the atlantic coast of France. We landed at Biscarosse.
Due to military zone we had to fly at 500 ft. max. over the beach.
Next place was Isle d’Oléron, a good place for cycling.
Last place was La Rochelle for refuelling and GA friendly.
And here a video of the approach and landing at Ile d’Oleron.
In summer 2013 we landed on Lundy Island airstrip. Our friends Karen and Chris took a video with their smartphone-camera.
View from the spectactors.
Lovely to visit again.
Due to the rough field pilots do not like to land on Lundy airstrip because you can break the nose wheel. Has happend. With a good technic you can lower the probability that something happens. My first approach was to find out how rough the field is and to run off the sheep.
